As of January 30, 2020, 9976 cases of infection had been reported in 21 countries world wide.

March 16, 2020 saw the closure of some businesses
On March 23, 2020, all public and private schools were ordered closed and the general population was directed to stay at home.
On March 25, 2020, all non-essential businesses in Washington were ordered closed.
By the time PPP applications became available for pre-completion on April 2, more than a million people had been infected worldwide.
